The Colonnaded Street was the main street of Nabataean Petra, laid out along the bed of Wadi Musa through the centre of the city. It was paved and lined with columns, and was renewed after the Romans took over the kingdom in 106 AD. Shops, markets and a public fountain stood along it. The street runs from the Nymphaeum past the Great Temple to the Temenos Gate and Qasr al-Bint. The Royal Tombs look down on it from the east.
