The Street of Facades is a row of Nabataean tombs cut into the lower slopes of the mountain on the south side of Petra's main path, between the Treasury and the theatre. Many have the stepped crowns typical of early Nabataean tombs, and they date from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD. The tombs line the path on the left as visitors walk from the Outer Siq towards the city centre, and some can be entered.
