Ain Musa is the spring at the top of the town of Wadi Musa, now housed in a small building with three white domes. Local tradition holds that it is where Nabi Musa struck the rock with his staff and water flowed for Bani Isra'il on their journey, and the town and valley take their name from him. In ancient times this water was carried by channels through the Siq to supply Petra. The spring sits beside the road into town from the north-east, a few kilometres above the entrance to Petra.
