The Obelisk Tomb is one of the first monuments on the way into Petra, cut into the cliff above the path between the visitor centre and the Siq. Its upper storey has four obelisks carved in the rock around a small figure in a niche, and below it is a dining hall, the Bab al-Siq Triclinium, with a classical facade. Both date from the 1st century AD. Across the path is an inscription in Nabataean and Greek, and the large square Djinn Blocks stand along the same stretch of road.
