The Lion Triclinium is a small rock-cut dining hall with a facade flanked by two carved lions, now worn, on either side of its doorway. It dates from the 1st century AD and was used for the memorial meals that Nabataean families held near their tombs. It lies in a side valley on the way up to Ad Deir, a short detour from the main stepped path.
