The Behram Bey Madrasa is the oldest educational institution in north-eastern Bosnia, an Islamic school that was already teaching students before 1626 and takes its name from its founder, Behram Bey. Over the centuries it has been rebuilt and restored many times. Today it is a large secondary school of the Islamic Community, with around five hundred students, housed in a building in the Moorish revival style in the old centre of Tuzla, close to the Kapija square.
