Zvornik Fortress, also called Đurđev Grad, stands high above the river Drina on the border with Serbia. Built in the Middle Ages, it passed to the Ottomans in the fifteenth century and became a key fortress on the Drina crossing. The ruined walls and towers are open at all times and give a wide view over the Drina valley, though the access road is rough and the site has little maintenance. The grave of Shaykh Hasan Kaimi lies on the hillside nearby.
