About Fort of Na'im (Khaybar)

Na'im was one of the forts in the al-Natat area of Khaybar, among the first to be attacked when the Muslims arrived in 7 AH. The Companion Mahmud ibn Maslamah, brother of Muhammad ibn Maslamah, was martyred during the siege of this fort when a millstone was thrown down on him from its walls. The remains of the fort stand on a rocky rise in the oasis and have recently been under restoration. Reaching it can be difficult, and it is best visited with a local guide as part of a tour of the battlefield of Khaybar.
