The maqam of Nabi Sa'in crowns the hill that rises above the old city of Nazareth, which is known after it as Jabal Nabi Sa'in. The shrine has been honoured by the people of Nazareth for generations and has given its name to the neighbourhood around it. A large mosque with a golden dome and a tall minaret has been built beside the maqam, and its dome can be seen from across the city, especially when it is lit at night. The hilltop gives wide views over Nazareth and the surrounding valleys.
