This small domed shrine below the Basilica of the Annunciation holds the grave of Shihab al-Din, honoured in Nazareth as a nephew of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi and a commander in his army at the time of the Battle of Hattin in 1187. A small mosque bearing his name stands beside the grave. The shrine, with its green dome, stands on the plaza at the edge of Nazareth's old market, and worshippers use the mosque for daily prayers. The White Masjid is a short walk up the market streets.
