This cave on the hillside above Ghor al-Safi is honoured as the place where Nabi Lut and his daughters sheltered after leaving their town, as remembered in the accounts of his people. It is on the Royal Committee's list of prophets' shrines. The cave is reached by a stepped path from the road, and the remains of a Byzantine monastery with mosaic floors lie around its mouth. The Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth, at the foot of the hill, presents the site and the archaeology of the southern Dead Sea.
