Kriva Ćuprija, the Crooked Bridge, was built in 1558 over the Radobolja stream, just west of the Old Bridge and close to where the stream flows into the Neretva. It is the oldest single-arch stone bridge in Mostar and is often said to have been built as a trial before the great Old Bridge was completed in the following years. Its single arch, about eight and a half metres across, rises steeply over the clear water, with stone steps on each side. The bridge was weakened during the war and later swept away by floods, then rebuilt with international help. The little lanes, restaurants and terraces around it make it one of the most charming corners of the old town.
