The Tabačica Masjid, also called the Hajji Kurt Masjid, stands on the right bank of the Neretva about a hundred metres from the Old Bridge. It was built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by Hajji Kurt of the old Mostar Kurt family, and it takes its popular name from the tanners, the tabaci, whose workshops filled the neighbouring Tabhana quarter. With a row of small shops beside it and the Old Bridge so close, it is one of the most visited mosques in Mostar. It makes a natural place to pray while exploring the old town.
