Mostar's Ottoman public bath stands in the old town on the western bank, close to the Old Bridge. Like other Ottoman towns, Mostar had a hamam where people came to wash, relax and meet, and it was an important part of daily and religious life. The stone building with its small domes pierced by glass lights has been restored and used as a small museum about bathing culture in Ottoman times. It has recently been listed as temporarily closed, so check before visiting, although its exterior can still be seen on any walk around the bridge.
