Shaykh Hasan Kaimi Baba was one of the most beloved Sufi shaykhs and poets of Ottoman Bosnia. After unrest in Sarajevo in 1682 he was sent away from the city and settled in Zvornik, where he passed away in 1691-92. He was venerated as a friend of Allah in his lifetime and after. His turbe stands at Kula Grad, west of Zvornik's old town, beside an ancient linden tree, with a large graveyard that grew around it. The original wooden turbe was destroyed during the 1992-95 war and has since been rebuilt, and two caretakers look after it. Visitors still come for ziyara and to make du'a.
