Lake Muzayrib is a small spring-fed lake in the town of Muzayrib in the Hawran, about 500 metres long and 250 metres wide. Muzayrib was for centuries the great assembly point of the Syrian Hajj caravan, where pilgrims gathered before setting out south on the road to Makkah and Madinah. The lake has long been one of the best-known outing spots of Daraa governorate and a source of water for the region, though its level depends on the springs that feed it and it has been low or empty in recent dry years. The Muzayrib Castle (Hajj Fort) stands in the town, and the Tal Shihab Waterfalls are a short drive to the south-west.
