Zubalah was one of the markets of Yathrib before Islam, at the northern entrance to the settlement near the place known as Kumat Abi al-Hamra'. It lay among farms and water stores, and people of several tribes lived around it. The historians of Madinah mention it among the old markets that existed before the market of the Prophet ﷺ was established. Nothing of the market survives. Its site lies in the north of Madinah, about 5 kilometres north-west of Masjid al-Nabawi, in the area between the city and Mount Uhud.
