Ghars was one of the wells of Quba that Nabi Muhammad ﷺ especially loved. He drank from its water and made wudu with it, and the reports say he asked to be washed with its water after his passing, which was done when the time came. In recent years the well and its surroundings have been restored as a visitor site, with a small exhibition, landscaped grounds and taps from which visitors can take the water. It lies a short distance east of Masjid Quba and is one of the most visited historic wells in Madinah. Entry is ticketed at certain times.
