Kulthum ibn al-Hidm was an elderly leader of Banu Amr ibn Awf at Quba. When Nabi Muhammad ﷺ arrived on the Hijrah, he stayed as Kulthum's guest during his days at Quba, while Abu Bakr stayed with another family nearby. It was from this house that the Prophet ﷺ received the first Muslims of Madinah who came to greet him and went out to found Masjid Quba. Kulthum passed away not long after the Prophet's ﷺ arrival. His house stood close to Masjid Quba, and its site, marked today in the area around the mosque, is remembered as the first place the Prophet ﷺ lived after the Hijrah.
