About Al-Raji' (Martyrs of al-Raji')

Al-Raji' was a watering place of the tribe of Hudhayl between Usfan and Makkah. In 4 AH a group of Companions sent to teach Islam to two tribes was betrayed here: Asim ibn Thabit and others fell fighting, and Khubayb ibn Adi and Zayd ibn al-Dathinah were taken to Makkah, where they were martyred. The site lies in open land west of Usfan, where three specialist maps mark the wells of al-Raji'.
