About King Fahd's Fountain

King Fahd's Fountain was built between 1980 and 1983 and gifted to Jeddah by King Fahd. It pumps seawater from the Red Sea at high pressure, sending a jet up to around 300 metres into the air, and is counted among the tallest fountains in the world. The fountain stands off the Corniche and is lit by hundreds of spotlights after dark. It is best seen from the waterfront in the evening, when families gather along the shore.
