Masjid al-Rahmah, also known as Masjid Fatimah al-Zahra, was built in 1985 on the Jeddah Corniche. It stands on piles over the sea, so that at high tide it appears to float on the water. The white mosque has a large central dome surrounded by more than fifty smaller domes, and windows in the lower level look out over the waves. It is especially popular at sunset, and parking can be some distance away at busy times.
