Al-Tayebat International City of Science and Knowledge is a large private museum complex in al-Faisaliyyah, built as a group of twelve buildings in the old Hijazi style with carved balconies, courtyards and fountains. Its many halls hold collections on Islamic, Arabian and Saudi heritage. Displays include traditional dress and jewellery from every region of the kingdom, manuscripts, coins and household objects, and the buildings themselves are part of the experience. Visits are by ticket with a guide, and it is worth allowing two or three hours. It is closed on Fridays.
