Nadira Banu Begum was the wife of the Mughal prince Dara Shikoh. She died in 1659 and, as she had wished, was buried near the shrine of Mian Mir, whom she and her husband revered. Her two-storey tomb stands on a platform in the middle of what was once a large water tank, reached by a causeway. Traces of fresco remain on the walls. The tank is now dry and laid out as open ground, and the shrine of Mian Mir is a few minutes' walk away.
