Tell al-Umayri is a town mound south of Amman that was lived in through the Bronze and Iron Ages. Excavations since the 1980s have uncovered a defensive wall, a rampart and houses. The tell rises beside the Airport Road, about ten kilometres south of the city, and can be walked over freely.
