Darat al-Funun is an arts centre opened in 1993 by the Khalid Shoman Foundation, set in three restored houses from the 1920s on the hillside of Jabal al-Luweibdeh. It holds exhibitions, talks and concerts, and has an art library. Its terraced garden contains the ruins of a 6th-century church, and it looks out across downtown Amman to the Citadel.
