About Cave of Ashab al-Kahf

This cave at al-Raqim, south-east of Amman, is honoured as the cave of the Ashab al-Kahf, the young believers whose long sleep is told in Surat al-Kahf. It is on the Royal Committee's list, and caves linked with the Companions of the Cave are also honoured in other lands. The cave is cut into the hillside with burial niches inside, and a mosque stands above and beside it. A museum and a large modern mosque have been added to the site.
