The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts was founded in 1980 by the Royal Society of Fine Arts. Its collection of modern and contemporary art from Jordan, the Arab world and the wider Muslim world, including painting, sculpture, ceramics and calligraphy, is one of the largest in the region. The gallery occupies two buildings facing a small park on Jabal al-Luweibdeh, one of the older quarters of Amman.
