Qusayr Amra is an Umayyad bathhouse and audience hall of the early eighth century, inscribed by UNESCO for its wall paintings. Its frescoes show hunting scenes, craftsmen, rulers of the age and the night sky in its dome, one of the oldest surviving depictions of the heavens on a dome. The small building stands alone in a desert valley on the road to Azraq, with a visitor centre beside it.
