This is the mosque of the Qasr al-Hallabat complex, built in the Umayyad period beside a Roman fort that the Umayyads turned into a palace with mosaic floors and carved plaster. The mosque has been restored. The site stands on a low hill in the desert east of Zarqa, with a visitor centre, and the bathhouse of Hammam al-Sarah lies two kilometres to the east.
