This shrine in Karak is honoured as the resting place of Nabi Nuh, the prophet of the Flood. It is one of the prophets' shrines cared for by the Royal Committee, and maqams of Nabi Nuh are also honoured in Najaf beside the shrine of Sayyiduna Ali and at Karak Nuh in the Beqaa valley of Lebanon. The shrine stands in the town of Karak, a short distance from Karak Castle and the old market.
