The Aqaba Marine Reserve protects the coral reefs along the Red Sea coast south of the city of Aqaba. Its waters hold hundreds of species of coral and reef fish close to the shore. Public beaches along the reserve give easy access for snorkelling and diving straight from the shore, and diving centres line the coast road.
