Khazali Canyon is a narrow cleft that splits Jabal Khazali in the heart of Wadi Rum. Its walls carry ancient rock drawings of people, animals and footprints, and inscriptions in Thamudic and Nabataean script left by those who passed through the desert. Visitors walk a short way into the shaded crack, where the carvings are close at hand. It is one of the regular stops on the jeep tours from Rum village.
