The Arslanagić Bridge is the oldest and finest bridge in Trebinje, crossing the Trebišnjica with two large arches and two smaller openings. It is traditionally linked to the Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolović, and it takes its name from the Arslanagić family, who for generations kept the bridge and collected its tolls. When the river was dammed in the 1960s, the bridge was taken apart stone by stone and rebuilt a little way upstream at its present site. It is now a national monument, free to visit at any time, and the river setting is especially attractive at sunset.
