Homs
This small zawiya in the Bani al-Siba'i quarter of old Homs carries the name of Rabi'ah al-Adawiyyah, the great woman saint of Basra. According to the people of Homs, a devout woman of the city admired Rabi'ah and followed her way of worship and detachment, and the quarter and the shrine came to be named after her. Rabi'ah herself is buried in Basra, and this zawiya is also a traditional gathering place of the al-Siba'i family of Homs.
