Abu Musa Abdullah ibn Qays al-Ash'ari was a Companion of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ from Yemen, remembered for his beautiful recitation of the Qur'an. He served as governor of Basra and Kufa and was one of the two arbiters chosen after the Battle of Siffin. He passed away around 50 AH. This maqam in the Bab al-Dreib quarter of Homs, on the street named after him, has long been visited by the people of the city in his honour.
