Shaykh Mustafa Gaibi was a seventeenth-century Sufi master of the Jelveti order from Ottoman Bosnia and a student of Aziz Mahmud Hudayi. He is remembered for his letters urging officials, and even the sultan, to turn away from injustice, bribery and false piety. He lived at the fortress of Stara Gradiška on the Sava, and tradition says he foresaw the Ottoman losses that followed the siege of Vienna in 1683. He refused to leave as the Habsburg army advanced, and lost his life shortly before the fortress fell in 1688. His grave on the far bank of the Sava became a place of ziyara, and a small turbe was built over it in the nineteenth century. In 1954 the turbe was moved across the river to Gradiška in Bosnia, where it now stands in the graveyard of the Tekijska mosque. Visitors come here to recite al-Fatiha and make du'a.
