The Uthmaniyya Madrasa, originally called al-Rida'iyya, is an Ottoman mosque and madrasa built in the eighteenth century by Uthman Pasha al-Duraki, a native of Aleppo who rose to become governor of several provinces. The complex brought together a mosque, a school for the religious sciences, rooms for students and endowed facilities, and many scholars of Aleppo studied there. The complex stands in the Bab al-Nasr quarter in the north of the old city, near the Farafira Khanqah and the shrine of Nasimi. It remains an active mosque.
