Dar Junblat is one of the most important historic houses of old Aleppo, in the al-Bandarah quarter near Bab al-Nasr. It is associated with the Janbulad family, powerful local governors of Aleppo in the Ottoman period, and dates back to the late sixteenth century. Built around a large courtyard with a central pool and a raised iwan, it shows the grandeur of Aleppo's Ottoman palaces, though it has been neglected in recent years.
