The Saqifa Mosque, also known as the al-Thaqafi Mosque, stands just outside the old city wall near Bab Touma. Damascene historians name it after Uthman al-Thaqafi, and local people have long called it al-Saqifa. The mosque lies on the left of the road leading from Bab Touma towards the shrine of Shaykh Arslan, between the gate and the old wall towers. Visitors describe its interior as calm and old-fashioned, and it remains a working mosque. The graves of Khawla bint al-Azwar and Shurahbil ibn Hasana are a short walk away.
