Hammam al-Bakri is a small historic bathhouse on al-Nahwi lane in the Bab Touma quarter of Old Damascus, and one of the handful of traditional hammams in the city still in use. Its domed outer hall is decorated with coloured marble, iwans and a skylit dome set with coloured glass. Visitors pass from the outer hall into the warm and hot rooms for a traditional steam, scrub and massage, followed by tea. It is a popular place for wedding parties and traditional celebrations, and keeps separate hours for women. It lies a few minutes' walk from Bab Touma.
