The Safarjalani Mosque, also called the al-Qari Mosque after the Damascene al-Qari family and the bathhouse of the same name, is an Ottoman mosque of the late seventeenth century. It takes its name from Shaykh Umar al-Safarjalani, the scholar who restored it, and is listed by the Damascus Awqaf directorate among the historic zawiyas of the city. The mosque stands in the Hammam al-Qari quarter of the old city, between Mi'dhanat al-Shahm and al-Qaymariyya, near Maktab Anbar. Its unusual minaret has attracted the attention of researchers. The building has been restored and remains in use, a short walk from the Umayyad Mosque.
