Jami' al-Bahramiyyah was built in 991 AH (1583) by Bahram Pasha, the Ottoman governor of Aleppo, in the reign of Sultan Murad III. It stands in the al-Jallum quarter near Bab Antakiyah, and was one of the most admired mosques of the city in its day, so that the lane leading to it became known by its name. Its domed prayer hall and courtyard follow the classical Ottoman style. The mosque has been under restoration in recent years.
