About Jahangir's Quadrangle, Lahore Fort

Jahangir's Quadrangle is a palace courtyard in the Lahore Fort begun under Akbar and completed under Jahangir around 1617–18. It was the emperor's private residential court, with his sleeping chambers, the Khwabgah, on its northern side. The courtyard is laid out as a garden around a central pool and fountains. The surrounding red sandstone pavilions keep their carved brackets in the form of elephants and lions, a feature of the Akbar-period style.
