Mount Nebo is the summit from which Nabi Musa is remembered as looking over the Holy Land before his passing. It is on the Royal Committee's list of prophets' shrines, and a shrine of Nabi Musa is honoured near Jericho across the valley. The summit rises to about 700 metres above sea level, high over the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, and on clear days the view reaches Jericho and the hills of Jerusalem. A memorial church with Byzantine mosaic floors stands on the summit, and the springs of Uyun Musa lie in the valley below.
