Jabal Umm ad-Dami is the highest mountain in Jordan, at about 1,850 metres, rising in the far south of Wadi Rum close to the border with Saudi Arabia. A walking route up the north side takes around an hour from the base, and the summit looks out over the desert south into Saudi Arabia. The mountain is reached by a long drive across the protected area, usually with a local guide.
