Humayma is the desert village where the Abbasid family lived in the Umayyad period. Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Abbas settled here, and his descendants lived on the estate for several generations before the Abbasids came to power in 132 AH (750). The site includes the family residence, a small mosque, Nabataean and Roman water systems and a Roman fort, set in the wide desert north of Aqaba. It is on the Royal Committee's list.
