This shrine and mosque near Tabaqat Fahl, in the Jordan Valley, is honoured as the grave of Shurahbil ibn Hasana, the Companion and commander of the conquest of al-Sham who passed away in the plague of Amwas in 18 AH (639). A shrine in his name outside Bab Touma in Damascus is also honoured. The site was rebuilt by the Royal Committee and lies close to the ruins of Pella, where the Muslim army won the Battle of Fahl.
