This is the grave of Amir ibn Abi Waqqas, brother of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, who was among the early converts to Islam and emigrated to Abyssinia. He took part in the conquest of al-Sham and is buried in the Jordan Valley. His shrine stands in the village of Waqqas, named after him, in the northern Jordan Valley, and it has been restored by the Royal Committee.
