This mosque, built in 1958 in the Islamic cemetery on Tell Jadur in Salt, stands over a tomb honoured as that of Jad, son of Nabi Ya'qub and brother of Nabi Yusuf. It is on the Royal Committee's list of prophets' shrines. The tomb lies inside the mosque on the hill of Jadur, a short distance from the old centre of Salt with its yellow-stone houses.
